'J-Club'

Children’s Church is now called ‘J-Club’. We meet each week apart from the first Sunday in the Month when we have a Family Mass. Parents are asked NOT to take their children to the Children’s Corner at church, but to have them sit with you up unto the end of the Collect. The children are then invited to come to the front of the Church. We then say a special prayer for the children and their work in ‘J Club’.

If you would like more information about J-Club, please contact the Parish Office or just come along and meet us.

1st Oakingham Guide Unit
We are the youngest members of the Guiding Movement and members are between 5 and 7. We meet on a Tuesday afternoon in the Parish Rooms between 5.00 and 6.15pm.

We play and work together the emphasis being firmly on fun and an introduction to Guiding.

We join with Brownies, Guides and Rangers with the major events but there is not a structured programme as with the older units.

We have a waiting list for new members and are always willing to add new names to our list.

Most of our girls go on to join Brownies at the age of 7, but again, there is a separate waiting list.

We are usually in need of leaders willing to spare a couple of hours each week and this is a great way to make new friends.

Come and join us.

Welcome Club
The club was started in 1996 for anyone over the age of fifty to come along and meet new friends for a social afternoon. We meet in the Parish Rooms on the second Tuesday of each month from 2pm-4pm. We try to vary our programme over the year to include speakers, demonstrations, beetle drive, entertainment and an outing in September. The cost is £1.50 for each meeting; this includes tea, cakes and a raffle.

New members are always welcome to join us.
