Churches Together Wokingham – Carol Singing

On Monday 12 th December there will be Carol singing at Wokingham Station from 5.30pm for about an hour. CTW will be carol singing and giving out 300 business cards wishing everyone a happy Christmas at Wokingham Station and directing them to the CTW website for the list of Christmas services within the churches.  A chocolate coin will be put on the back of the card.  We will be between the footbridge and the telephone box at the front of the Station; would like everyone to wear something red, so we stand out!

We need singers, instrumentalists, people to distribute the cards - all ages are welcome.  We would love to make an even bigger impact this year. No rehearsals needed, just turn up and sing/play. Gill Wilkins

Advent Charity

Daisy’s Dream is a professional service which responds to the needs of children and families affected by life threatening illness or bereavement, in Berkshire and the surrounding areas.   We know that the death of someone important can have a devastating effect on a child or young person. With the appropriate support and information children and young people can be helped to understand what has happened and learn to rebuild their lives.

WOULD YOU LIKE COMPANY AND LUNCH ON CHRISTMAS DAY?

CHRISTMAS LUNCH FROM 12.00 TILL 3.00PM

On Christmas day, a local hotel is opening its doors and giving Christmas lunch to Wokingham residents who will face the possibility of being alone for Christmas this year. This lunch is for those who don’t have family or friends nearby or who aren’t able to provide a Christmas lunch for themselves or their immediate family.

Local charities and Churches Together in Wokingham are working with the General Manager of the hotel to make Christmas Day a happy, memorable day for those who would otherwise be alone or struggling to provide a Christmas meal.

If you know of an individual, a couple where one cares for the other, or a family struggling to make ends meet and you think they would like to be invited to the Christmas lunch, please forward all details to Sharon Elliott of Faith in the Community – sharon.elliott@mac.com or 07843 091950
