St Paul’s is a Fairtrade Church

Yes – St Paul’s is, indeed, a Fairtrade Church – a fact of which we are all very proud. But to continue to be officially accredited as a Fairtrade Church we need to continue to promote Fairtrade. Recent changes in our supply arrangements mean that we need more volunteers to keep our Fairtrade Stall initiative running. Without more people (each giving quite small amounts of time) we can not carry on. SO - - if you want to see us continue as a Fairtrade Church, and you can offer some help (however small), please contact:-

TOOLS WITH A MISSION -UPDATE

This is an on-going project so, if you haven't already read it, please take a look at the article in August Spire telling you how you can put to good use those tools you no longer need.  All types of tools are wanted - metal and wood-working, car and cycle maintenance, typewriters, sewing machines, etc - but not lawn-related items.  I am acting as local rep for St Paul's so please let me know what you have and I will pass them to Peter Harms at Wokingham Baptist Church.  I already have quite a collection but still have space for more.  Chris Townsend 9781218

Disasters Emergency Relief Fund

Pakistan floods appeal latest appeal Pakistan Floods Appeal

Over 1,000 people are reported to have died with that number likely to rise as more information becomes available. About 2.5 million people are believed to have been affected by the floods which may worsen as further rain falls and water moves downstream. In the aftermath of the floods there is a serious risk to survivors from potentially deadly diseases which will spread as a result of contaminated surface and drinking water.

The Disaster Emergency Committee has opened the ‘DEC Pakistan Floods Appeal’. The money raised will help fund the life saving work in Pakistan of the DEC’s Members and their partners - the leading UK aid agencies.

There is a plate at the back of church for donations.
